Description

Apostille Service for a Translation Only (7-10 Day Service)

The does not include the cost of the translation. This is a separate service to apostille/validate a translation, which is very uncommon and only required in a few cases. Apostilles are complicated, and every country has different rules and regulations regarding documentation, certification and authentication. Please review all guidelines in advance before ordering an apostille.

This service provides an apostille for the following:

  • A completed translation into a foreign language
  • The apostille or authentication validates only the translation, not the original document

This type of apostille will not work for all circumstances. For example, when getting married in the Dominican Republic or Colombia, a birth certificate is required to be presented at the civil registry in order to obtain a marriage license. The birth certificate must be apostilled twice: once from the state of issue, and once in the translated form. We can only provide the apostille for the translation, not the original state of issue as that can only be done by submitting the document in its original form directly to the state of issue. For example, if you have a birth certificate from Texas, it must be presented to the secretary of state in Austin for an apostille. At that point, it must be translated into Spanish, and then the translation must be apostilled in the state of translation, which does not need to be the same state from which the birth certificate was issued.

Our Apostille Process Includes the Following:

  • Notarization of an Affidavit of Translation
  • Authentication from the County Clerk
  • FedEx 2 Day shipping to the Secretary of State (State of TN)

The apostille process does not include translation of the original document(s). The cost to translate depends on the total word-count of the source document, among other considerations.

Summary and Considerations

We are able to order apostilles for document translations; however, just ordering an apostille for a translation may not be what is needed for your particular situation. It is always best to first order an apostille from the secretary of state from the state of issue and then have the translation completed and apostilled. If you follow that particular pattern, your documents are sure to be accepted.
