Southeast Spanish’s Response to COVID-19 and Translation
Due to the nationwide outbreak of COVID-19 (commonly referred to as the Corona Virus), we have modified our daily operation procedures slightly in order to ensure safety of both our valued clients and our translators when dealing with COVID-19 and translation. We want to be part of the solution, which is why we have implemented the following temporary adjustments to our standard operating procedure:
Reduced Face-to-Face Interaction
Social Distancing: In an effort to reduce personal contact, please call or email questions instead of coming to one of our local translations offices. In translation, we never need original documents in order to provide an official, certified translation; therefore, a scanned version of your document sent by email, a picture or image sent via email or text, or a faxed version of your document is all that is needed. We are able to provide official, certified translations in 24 hours or less to all areas of the country. All translations are completed in accordance with all federal, state and local laws, statutes and regulations.
Increased Safety when Shipping via FedEx
Latex Gloves for FedEx Shipments: All translations shipped via FedEx Priority Overnight will be stamped, sealed, signed using latex gloves. According to the CDC, WebMD and other sources, viruses such as COVID-19 only live on paper and/or cardboard surfaces for around 24 hours. Translations shipped via regular mail will be in transit for three to four days, so there is no concern when translations are shipped via USPS 1st Class Mail. Yet, when FedEx next day shipping is requested, out of an abundance of caution, we will handle all parts of your translation with new latex gloves.
Reduced Turnaround Time
Faster Shipments and Translation Turnaround Time: Most translations completed for USCIS (United States Citizenship and Immigration Services) do not require original documents; the scanned, certified version that we send via email is acceptable for uploading into USCIS’s system. Additionally. the emailed translation can be printed and submitted or used at the USCIS in-person interview. As a rule, we complete most translations in 24 hours or less, yet during this current period, we will complete most translations in 8 to 24 hours, which will allow customers to have their requested certified translations much sooner. Additionally, if hard-copies or the original documents are needed, we will make additional drop-offs to our local post office, which will reduce delivery time in some cases.
Increased Phone and Email Support
Additional Phone and Email Availability: As a rule, we are available by phone, email and text most of the day; however, we frequently have off-site meetings and appointments, most of which will not occur in the next few weeks or months. We will be available by phone or text most of the day, even on weekends, and when we are not, you can reach us on our 24-hour cell phone number, listed below. As for email questions, quotes and comments, we will check and respond to emails all day, every day, seven days per week.
How to Say COVID-19 in Spanish
We are getting a lot of calls about updating documents, translating news publications and writing other materials in Spanish regarding policy changes due to the virus. Many are asking how to say covid-19 in Spanish. COVID-19 does not translate, but the term Corona Virus translates to Coronavirus or something similar to la enfermedad por Coronavirus 2019 (COVID-19).
Free COVID-19 Statement Translation
If you need to translate a response or statement regarding your company policies, we are offering free COVID-19 statement translation for up to 250 words. Please send a copy of your document to us for a quote. Short, simple statements of 250 words or less will be translated free of charge in 24 hours or less. More completed, lengthy statements will be quoted based on the total word-count of the document.

COVID-19 Frequently Asked Questions, FAQs in Spanish and English
Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) is a respiratory illness that can spread from person to person. The virus was first identified in Wuhan, China and is now spreading in the US. The virus is thought to spread mainly between people who are in close contact with one another (within about 6 feet) through respiratory droplets produced when an infected person coughs or sneezes. It also may be possible that a person can get COVID-19 by touching a surface or object that has the virus on it and then touching their own mouth, nose, or possibly their eyes, but this is not thought to be the main way the virus spreads.
According to the World Health Organization, the most common symptoms of COVID-19 are fever, tiredness and dry cough. Some patients may have aches and pains, nasal congestion, runny nose, sore throat or diarrhea. These symptoms are usually mild and begin gradually. The CDC has created a new Coronavirus Self-Checker tool to screen your symptoms. If you have an acute respiratory illness, meaning fever plus at least one symptom of respiratory disease (e.g., cough or shortness of breath), you should begin self-quarantine.
