Sworn Translation Services for an FBI Background Check and Federal Apostille (Translation Only, Spain Only)

Our small team is based in the United States and we are not Spanish Citizens; however, we have partnered with a few sworn Spanish translators certified by the government of Spain in order to help provide the necessary translation certification when submitting documentation to the government of Spain (in Spain) or to the Consulate of Spain in Los Angeles or San Francisco. If submitting to the other Spanish consulates (Houston, Chicago, New York, Miami, Boston or Washington DC), our standard certified, notarized translation service, for $69, will be accepted in most cases.

  2. This particular service is typically only needed for use in Spain or at the Spanish Consulates in Los Angeles or San Francisco; however, it can be used at any Spanish consulate or the Embassy of Spain in DC.
  3. The rate includes only one-page, clear background checks.

Description

Sworn Translation Services for an FBI Background Check and Federal Apostille (Translation Only, Spain Only)

Our small team is based in the United States and we are not Spanish Citizens; however, we have partnered with a few sworn Spanish translators in order to help provide the necessary translation certification when submitting documentation to the government of Spain (in Spain) or to the Consulate of Spain in Los Angeles or San Francisco (or any Spanish consulate worldwide). If submitting to the other Spanish consulates (Houston, Chicago, Miami, Boston, New York or Washington DC), our standard translation service will be accepted, in most cases.  Additionally, if you’d like to search for a sworn translator on your own, will be glad to provide the Spanish Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ global list of sworn translators.

Note: BLS, the agency handling a lot of new applications for Spain is asking for sworn translations at various consulates. Please review your documentation to see if you need US based certified translation or sworn translation, completed in Spain and certified by the Spanish Ministry of Foreign Affairs. If your Spanish visa application says “obtain a certified or sworn translation,” you can select either option.

FOUR (4) VERY IMPORTANT NOTES ABOUT SWORN TRANSLATION SERVICES:

  1. This sworn translation service does NOT include the federal apostille, although we will be glad to request an apostille for you. [Click Here to Order a Federal Apostille]
  2. This particular service is ONLY for use in Spain or at the Spanish Consulates in Los Angeles or San Francisco (and BLS at other consulates). In most cases, if you are submitting to another Spanish consulate, you can use our standard, certified, US-based translation, which is much less: $69. [Order US-Based Certified Translation]
  3. The rate includes sworn translation services for only one-page, clear background checks. If you have additional history pages, we have to quote the document in advance. Please send your background check by email for a quote.
  4. Sworn translation services may take up several days (sometimes only a few hours).

FAQs regarding English to Spanish sworn translation services:

  • What is a sworn Spanish translator? A Spanish sworn translator is someone who is certified or sworn in by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Spain. A US based, certified translator is NOT a sworn translator. In Spanish, sworn translators are called “traductores jurados” or in the singular form, a”traductor jurado”, sworn translation is: “traducción jurada.” The Spanish government publishes a list of sworn translators online — we have two translators on the official list.
  • How does one become a sworn translator? A sworn translator must pass a series of government-issued translation exams in Spain. Additionally, and most importantly, Spain requires that sworn translators have an office or residence in Spain, have a degree in translation from a Spanish college or university and be a citizen of Spain. For this reason, it is difficult to find a sworn Spanish translator certified by the government of Spain in the US.
  • Do I need the original printed, signed document of my sworn translation? No, not at all. Sworn translators sign all documents digitally, and since they are mostly located in Spain, the document is submitted by email. We have completed and submitted sworn translations digitally for over ten years to all Spanish consulates and within Spain, no issues whatsoever.
  • Is sworn Spanish translation valid for the NALCAP visa? Yes, 100%, no issues.

When I needed an FBI background check apostilled and translated into Spanish for a residency application, I was fortunate enough to find Dan and SES. Dan clearly explained everything I would need, and the likely turn around time. The service was fantastic! My documents were processed quickly and professionally. Dan is easy to reach, very responsive to all questions, and clearly explains the process. Highly recommend Dan and SES.

  4. Kailey Sanchez (verified owner)

Dan was incredibly helpful. I explained my situation and he made sure to get me the services i needed. The turn around was incredible and he is very responsive! He provided me all the information I needed to request expedited services from my congress rep and it got me the documentation back in plenty of time! Would highly recommend, takes the stress out of the whole process.

  5. Nick Silverman

Really Great. Dan explained the entire process and all options. He provided the global list of Sworn Translators, but none of them even emailed me back. Dan says he is US based but has a colleague who is from Spain, certified in Spain by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, so this was the best option, and my docs were accepted at the LA Spanish Consulate. Glad I found Dan!!
