What if I notice a translation error?

I found a translation error. Can the translation be updated? Yes!

After reviewing the submitted translation, I noticed a typo. Can it be adjusted? Yes, of course. Mistakes happen, and we have two-step system of translation and editing that helps reduce errors; however, some documents, especially older ones, can be difficult to read, so issues do occur. Also, we also see a lot of hand-written documents that are very hard to read. In all cases, we will send the completed translation via email in a scanned, PDF version, which allows the customer to review the document. If a translation error is found, we will adjust within an hour or so. If an issue is noticed after the hard-copies arrive in the mail, we will send an updated version both by email and by mail. We always stand behind our work, and if errors, omissions or mistakes are found, we will always make the adjustments. The following documents are typically issued in hand-written form:

What if the error is found in the original document, can the translation correct the error? No. We are required to translate the material exactly like the original, so if a name is misspelled in the source document, we have to write it in the same way; however, we can add what is called a translator’s note or translator’s comment that states that the original document contains a spelling or informational error, which is not considered a translation error.

In all cases, we guarantee our work. If a translation error occurs, we will do what it take to achieve the most accurate translation possible.
